Laura Brian and her husband Jim, are relative newcomers to Arizona. In 2005, they made the decision to move from Peoria, Illinois, to Gold Canyon, Arizona. They now live full-time in Arizona and love it!
Laura was a quilter for many years. She soon discovered classes in Crazy Quilting. The term “crazy quilting” is often used to refer to the art of crazy patchwork patterns on a quilt or clothing and often includes embellishment with beads and ribbons. Laura discovered that she loved the beading and soon found herself taking classes in jewelry design and production.
With that background, Laura’s beading skills began to blossom and she began to exhibit and sell her pieces at arts and crafts shows in Arizona. She also exhibits and sells her beautiful jewelry at a gallery near their former home in Illinois.
Laura’s passion is working with all types of beads and exotic bead stitches like peyote and kumihimo. She does braiding and crocheting with beads and especially likes designing necklaces using natural stone cabochons. She states: “I love the process of working with colors, beads and thread. I find every aspect of beading very rewarding. I get so excited and have so many ideas that I sometimes have many projects going at one time. “
Most all of Laura’s designs are “one of a kind” artistic creations. Each piece is crafted with her unique artistic vision. The care and concern she has for the generation of each one of her pieces is evident in the beautiful necklaces, bracelets, and earrings she produces.
